Primary Care Medical Support Specialist

As a Primary Care Assistant Medical Assistant at Mercy, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare patients for visits with providers by completing the Advanced Standard room process, including entering chief complaints, taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies, and completing medication reconciliations. You will also work the Encounter Guide to close any open care gaps, such as fall risk, depression screening, and diabetic eye exams. Additionally, you will assist with in-office testing, administer vaccines and injections within your scope of practice, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office
- Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA)
