Power Plant Operations Manager

Responsibilities- Responsible for all daily operation and maintenance activities for Walnut Creek Energy Park, including operations functions and maintenance & planning work.
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the Walnut Creek Energy Plant, including scheduling with energy traders, outage requests & notifications, unit status, and safe operation of power plant equipment.
- Evaluate production output, efficiency, and related variables, and assess the overall effectiveness of operation practices and procedures.
- Measure and control maintenance performance, and develop, obtain approval, and monitor a complete operations and maintenance budget consistent with the objectives of the owners.
- Participate in corporate safety and environmental programs, and provide accurate, routine, and special reports on maintenance activities, cost allocation, system and equipment reliability.
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in training or experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in power plant operations or maintenance.
- Experience with start-up, operations, and maintenance of gas turbines, generators, electronic controls, and monitoring devices.
- Proven managerial/supervisory experience required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, periodically bend and twist, and frequently apply moderate force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Extensive knowledge of gas technologies with advanced degree in engineering.
- Knowledge of EH&S rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Environmental control experience.
- Capital project experience.
This is primarily an office environment job, but the position will require occasional visits to the station or outside areas, including exposure to rotating equipment, high/low ambient temperatures, high humidity areas, high voltage electrical equipment, high noise areas, and elevations up to 400 feet.
