Position Overview:
As a vital clinical resource within the PreCertification Department, this role focuses on managing intricate authorization challenges. The specialist is tasked with clinically evaluating all adverse decisions made by insurers throughout the various stages of the Pre-Service Administrative appeals process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Patient Access team, ensuring that precertification and authorization matters are thoroughly investigated and resolved promptly from administrative, technical, and clinical viewpoints.
- Act as the primary liaison between the Precertification Department and medical staff regarding authorization concerns.
- Provide support to the Infusion, Radiation Therapy, Surgical, and Diagnostic Imaging Precertification Teams.
- Review financial and insurance data collected during the financial clearance process to confirm that payer requirements are satisfied by securing the necessary referrals and pre-certifications to enhance reimbursement and prevent payment penalties.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree: Nursing or a related clinical healthcare field (Preferred)
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Utilization Review within a hospital or insurance setting (Required); 2 years of experience in oncological authorization/precertification (Preferred); General experience with utilization review standards (Preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications: RN-LIC
- PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
- CPUR Certification in Professional Utilization Review (Preferred)
