Comhar Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Service Authorization Technician to join our team. As a Service Authorization Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that billing authorizations are correctly inputted into our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Key Responsibilities- Authorization and Referral Management: Admit clients by gathering and recording provider, client, and insurance information. Oversee the pre-authorization and referrals process for our Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program.
- Authorization Tracking and Correction: Improve the proficiency of receiving and correcting authorizations for services. Track discharges and enter them into the EHR system.
- Client Onboarding: Pre-admit clients by receiving referrals from various sources and entering client information into the referral module in the EHR system.
- Eligibility Verification: Run initial eligibility through Promise for clients.
- Authorization Reports: Develop and monitor authorization reports that are reviewed with the Office Manager.
- Contractor and Temp Agency Invoicing: Process contractor and temp agencies invoices.
- System Monitoring: Ensure a responsive system for authorization of services and payment of claims by monitoring the COMHAR billing system for laps in service as well as rejections and error logs.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 2 years' experience in an office setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Understanding of basic accounting and personnel management. Experience with billing and insurance. Knowledgeable with EHR Systems.
