Procedural Nurse Specialist

Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse, Procedural to provide individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in accordance with physician's orders, recognized nursing techniques, legal aspects of current nurse practice within the state of California and Center policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and complete an assessment of patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records and assist with completing the procedure log.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate pertinent information to physicians and co-workers.
  • Provide a safe environment for the patient to prevent injury.
  • Investigate and intervene in problem situations, reporting information to supervisor as appropriate and providing complete and accurate documentation.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and use personal protective equipment as appropriate and required.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, including cleaning and disinfecting of endoscopy equipment, operation and troubleshooting of patient monitoring equipment, and assisting in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Administer oral and IV medications and pharmaceuticals in a safe and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that informed consents are understood and signed prior to the administration of sedation.
  • Assist the physician in the performance of procedures.
  • Supervise patients receiving Conscious Sedation/Analgesia.
  • Maintain the sterility and cleanliness of the procedure room and set up and test the functionality of endoscopy equipment prior to the start of the procedure.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Valid CA RN license required.
  • Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in Nursing required. Five (5) years preferred.
