Job Summary

University Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. As a key member of our Cardiology Diagnostics department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality cardiac ultrasound exams, including spectral, color, and tissue doppler exams, stress echoes, pharmacologic stress echoes, and TEEs. You will operate mobile equipment throughout the hospital and work closely with a staff cardiologist to review and report test results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound exams, including spectral, color, and tissue doppler exams, stress echoes, pharmacologic stress echoes, and TEEs.
  • Operate mobile equipment throughout the hospital.
  • Review and report test results with a staff cardiologist.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely test results.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of human anatomy and physiology in relation to the cardiovascular system.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic CPR certification.
  • Active registry status through ARDMS standards (RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS through CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International).
  • Ability to independently perform echoes, pharmacologic stress echoes, and TEEs.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to explain procedures to patients and exchange information with co-workers and staff.
  • Written communication skills to document procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely position patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of cardiac ultrasound experience.
