The Director of Nursing (RN) will act as the primary clinical authority within our skilled nursing facility, ensuring the provision of comprehensive nursing services to our residents. This role encompasses the coordination and oversight of all nursing practices, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards while fostering a culture of excellence and safety in patient care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic guidance to the nursing department, cultivating an environment of clinical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing education.
- Supervise the training and professional development of nursing personnel, ensuring sufficient staffing levels and competency to meet the diverse needs of residents.
- Implement and uphold Sapphire policies, procedures, and clinical protocols to maintain the highest standards of resident care and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to formulate personalized care plans for residents.
- Assess and evaluate nursing care outcomes, identifying areas for enhancement and initiating quality improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state, federal, and local regulations governing nursing practice.
- Act as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, offering guidance, support, and clinical expertise to promote professional growth.
- Engage in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and quality assurance activities to advocate for resident-centered care and foster collaboration.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Apply knowledge of standard precautions and infection control measures as required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Oversee staffing procedures.
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment, with a proven ability to effectively lead and manage nursing teams.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to resident needs.
- Thorough understanding of nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and principles of quality improvement.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centered care and advocating for the needs and preferences of residents.
