Job Title: General Manager in Training

Join Advanced Auto Parts as a General Manager in Training and embark on a rewarding career path in retail management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of store employees, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide GAS3 selling experience for DIY and professional customers
  • Lead and develop a team of store employees, focusing on their growth and development
  • Drive sales growth and achieve personal and store sales goals
  • Manage DIY services, including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve any customer complaints
  • Understand the levers to impact profit and loss (P&L)
  • Manage on-duty responsibilities, including coaching, issue resolution, and floor management
  • Participate in the weekly scheduling process
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in backing up operations of the commercial delivery program
  • Provide DIY services, including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
Success Factors:
  • Act like an owner, taking ownership of store operations and customer satisfaction
  • Develop superior communication and customer service skills
  • Locate and stock parts efficiently
  • Apply safety knowledge and skills to ensure a safe working environment
  • Develop parts and automotive system knowledge
  • Hold ASE P2 certification or equivalent
  • Execute and train advanced solutions, projects, and product quality recommendations
  • Source parts from various suppliers, including special orders and second sources
  • Execute and train all store operational processes and procedures
Essential Job Skills:
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts and percentages
  • Review and analyze business reports, including profit and loss statements
  • Hold others accountable and provide feedback
  • Ability to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience:
  • 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 employees in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Successful experience managing profitability and financial acumen
Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
Certifications:
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.

Compensation Range: $22.95 USD per hour
