Role Summary:
As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you will oversee the efficient utilization of workforce, materials, and machinery. Your responsibilities will include training, developing, and assessing hourly team members while fostering the growth of high-performing teams. You will lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) initiatives and act as a resource for launch and pilot projects in designated areas. Your goal will be to meet or surpass production cost schedules while adhering to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness of quality benchmarks and communicate departmental quality objectives.
- Utilize resources effectively to address quality challenges.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with employees, union representatives, and management.
- Implement systems to prevent the recurrence of known issues.
- Encourage safe work practices and achieve targets related to ergonomics, health, safety, and cleanliness.
- Inspire, train, and develop team members to proficiently execute their roles using standardized procedures.
- Ensure team members receive sufficient Job Instruction Training (JIT).
By applying lean manufacturing principles and focusing on variation reduction, you will achieve production targets and product specifications while controlling costs and enhancing productivity.
Additionally, you will coach and mentor Group Leaders in these essential responsibilities.
