Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager, the Lead Human Resources Specialist will be tasked with managing the daily HR operations for the organization.
Key responsibilities encompass the administration of employee benefits, management of hourly payroll, fostering employee relations, and spearheading talent acquisition efforts to align with business objectives.
This role demands a flexible individual who can engage with personnel at all levels within the company. The specialist must be attuned to the needs of the organization, its employees, and the operational requirements.Core Responsibilities:
Ensure the maintenance and dissemination of human resource policies and procedures, administering guidelines as specified in the employee handbook for all hourly staff.
Administer the FMLA and STD processes in partnership with UNUM. Provide education to employees and management regarding the leave procedures and coordinate with UNUM to initiate and monitor FMLA claims. Keep a weekly report to track leave totals for each ongoing claim.
Work alongside the Human Resources Manager and departmental leaders to coach managers on effectively implementing corrective actions.
Oversee employee attendance and ensure proper documentation is issued in line with the attendance policy.
Support the HR Coordinator and Payroll by reviewing unauthorized timecards weekly and reporting PTO, LOA, and FMLA usage to payroll for accurate record-keeping.
Coordinate employee recognition initiatives, service awards, and monthly appreciation events.
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including the completion of necessary documentation, organizing orientation schedules, and fostering a positive onboarding experience.
Assist with additional responsibilities and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management, or a related discipline, along with 1-3 years of progressive HR experience is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of various leave management policies, including FMLA, STD, LTD, and Workers Compensation.
Experience with HRIS systems such as UltiPro or Kronos is highly desirable.
Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail are necessary.
A collaborative team player who is supportive and willing to assist colleagues when required.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while ensuring progress on all fronts.
Must uphold high standards of confidentiality regarding all employee records and information.
