Job Overview

Position: Juvenile Justice Technician I - Part-time

Location: Cedar City, Utah

If you are interested in a role that involves working with youth, this position is an excellent entry point into the field of Juvenile Justice. As a Technician I, you will engage with at-risk adolescents in various settings, including:
  • Secure confinement facilities
  • Multi-use centers
  • Community-based initiatives
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing programs for youth, provide counseling under supervision, and ensure direct care, supervision, and control of youth in secure and multi-use environments.
  • Work under moderate supervision with adolescents in secure confinement and assessment settings, as well as in community-based programs.
  • Supervise youth in group settings, individual interactions, visitations, and community activities.
  • Organize activities and address potentially hazardous situations to maintain safety for staff, clients, and the public.
  • Prepare written materials, including correspondence and reports.
  • Coordinate and refer services from community resources, placement providers, and other agencies involved with families and clients.
  • Support full-time staff in implementing appropriate security and safety measures to protect individuals and property.
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas in writing; comprehend written materials.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We seek a proactive individual who thrives in challenging environments while working with youth in need. Candidates should be available for rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Age 19 or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
