Job Title: Aircraft Finish Specialist

Job Summary:

The Finish Specialist, with minimal supervision, performs finishing preparation, application, and polishing of parts and minor repair and touch-up work in a safe, clean, and organized work area according to customer expectations and Duncan Aviation approved procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepares cabinet surfaces and substrates for paint or finish and miscellaneous plastic, metal, and leather parts for paint or dye to customer satisfaction and Duncan Aviation approved procedures using appropriate equipment.
2. Applies stains, dyes, paints, or finishes to prepared parts. Mixes paint and stains as needed.
3. Performs basic detail work, polish, and clean-up on finished items.
4. Performs structural and decorative repairs as required.
5. Researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record-keeping purposes as required by Duncan Aviation approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations.

Requirements:

* Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; Respirator Fit qualified
* Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
* Physical: Routinely lifts 50 lbs., occasionally 100 lbs.; reads small print; identifies small finish imperfections; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates working in confined spaces; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting
* Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

Education and Experience:

Finish Specialist I: High School graduate or equivalent required; Minimum one year related experience required
Finish Specialist II: High School graduate or equivalent required; Minimum two years related experience required; Minimum two years aviation finish experience preferred
Finish Specialist III: High School graduate or equivalent required; Minimum four years related experience required; Minimum three years aviation finish experience preferred
