ABOUT PATH
Founded in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has been at the forefront of innovative and effective strategies to support individuals facing homelessness. Our services span across California, providing a comprehensive continuum of support including homelessness prevention, outreach, employment assistance, individualized case management, and both interim and permanent housing solutions.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Interim Kitchen Operations Supervisor is essential to the success of PATH's Interim Housing program, ensuring that the kitchen environment is welcoming and that nutritious meals are prepared for guests. This role encompasses administrative, supervisory, and quality control responsibilities for kitchen staff and the coordination of dietary menu plans for guests.

  • Staff Management: Oversee culinary staff and all kitchen operations. Manage the scheduling of kitchen personnel, including volunteers, and adjust workload assignments as necessary.
  • Volunteer Support: Provide necessary assistance to volunteers to enhance their experience.
  • Performance Reviews: Coordinate regular performance evaluations for kitchen staff.
  • Feedback and Training: Offer constructive feedback, training opportunities, and professional growth pathways for staff.
  • Team Meetings: Facilitate weekly meetings with kitchen staff and program managers to ensure effective communication.
  • Timesheet Management: Ensure accurate submission of timesheets and staffing agency documentation.
  • Adherence to Values: Promote and uphold the established values and guidelines of the interim housing program.

QUALIFICATIONS
We seek candidates who possess:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to gather and interpret data to inform decisions and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in conveying information clearly and engagingly.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Six years of relevant culinary experience.
  • Two years of leadership experience in a culinary setting.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Four years of relevant experience.
  • One year of leadership experience in a culinary setting.
  • Current Managerial Food Handling certification.

REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must:

  • Provide employment eligibility verification.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  • Complete a Tuberculosis Test, Background Screening, and Drug Test as a condition of hire.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Driving is a critical function of this role. Candidates must possess:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Proof of insurance and ownership for vehicles used during work duties.
  • Eligibility for PATH's insurance coverage.
