We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team at 5.11 Tactical. As a key member of our retail store team, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience, building and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales goals.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Overall Brand Experience
- Direct and model 5.11's values, mission, and service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Work closely with the 5.11 Tactical merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and recovery of sales floor to brand standards.
- Ensure team members are trained in fitting techniques and accurately executing fittings.
- Ensure all alterations and embellishments are executed according to department specifications.
- Model an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Ensure housekeeping duties are completed to maintain a neat, clean, and professional store environment.
- Monitor and follow up on sales goals, sales plans, and sales budgets to optimize profit.
- Assist with reductions, price changes, and transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive, open, and unpack merchandise, and label merchandise with security tags.
- Follow and execute safety and security routines to prevent loss and guarantee employee and customer safety.
- Have working knowledge and oversee the use of all company systems in the store.
- Build Customer Relationships
- Create an environment that maintains a 100% focus on the customer.
- Model selling behaviors to build customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Model and support the use of store tools and systems to nurture customer relationships.
- Develop and guide efforts to establish relationships with local public safety organizations.
- Direct the Uniform Services department to meet service level commitments.
- Achieve Results
- Accountable for store and individual sales goals.
- Help attract, recruit, hire, and train high-caliber leadership team members and service specialists.
- Help assess team performance and provide feedback using both informal and formal methods.
- Ensure all team members are working together to create a positive environment and resolve issues.
- Write and flex the store labor schedule.
- Help manage store controllable expenses.
- Protect the assets of the store through the implementation of loss prevention practices.
- Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail store supervisory experience – outdoor apparel and/or gear preferred.
- Proven ability to provide a superior customer experience and drive customer loyalty.
- Proven ability to assess talent and manage performance.
- Proven business acumen with strategic and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Schedule flexibility to include evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to use a POS system.
