About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Infusion Center. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will provide patient care to an assigned group of patients, incorporating psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Cancer Center
  • Assist in patient research accrual by reviewing patient schedules against available protocols
  • Act as a role model to students and Clinical Nurses new to the unit
  • Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager
Requirements
  • One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
  • Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
  • Current chemotherapy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire
  • Current California RN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of JCAHO requirements
  • Oncology Certification
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
