Job Description

CMT Technical Services is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector and Technician to support our team in Flagstaff, Arizona.

  • Provides project construction inspections and/or materials testing support for projects involving transportation, civil, and structural building projects;
  • Monitors construction operations for compliance with contract provisions, drawings, and specifications;
  • Conducts construction materials testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, structural steel, and other miscellaneous items;
  • May require extended hours and assignments on projects throughout Southern Arizona.

Role Requirements

  • Certifications with ATTI, ACI, ICC, AWS, and Nuclear Density Gauge;
  • Proficient in construction inspections and specifications interpretation;
  • Possesses good mathematical skills and experience performing independent analysis and problem-solving;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge;
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment;
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required;
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Must pass a drug test, physical, and background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Considerable knowledge of roadway, buildings, structure, construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, and specifications;
  2. Knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and contract management software;
  3. Knowledge of general inspection and testing principles, safety, and quality control-quality assurance principles;
  4. Skill in the use of nuclear density and materials testing equipment;
  5. Ability to interpret roadway, civil, and/or building plans, specifications, and codes.

Physical Demands

  • Lifting of concrete cylinders, wheelbarrows, and other tools is necessary; Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds;
  • The position may require work in adverse weather conditions, long hours, night shifts, and weekends.
