Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician - Property Care Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and upkeep of the property, including performing a variety of maintenance and janitorial duties in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. This role requires the ability to diagnose problems with and assist with repair of various systems and equipment, including major appliances, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and performing minor repairs.
  • Assist with repair of major appliances, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry as needed.
  • Inspect building(s) and equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Accompany inspectors and outside contractors as required.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Community Manager to maintain an effective preventative maintenance program and schedule.
  • Assist with apartment cleaning and trash out at time of move-outs.
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory of appliances and maintenance supplies.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing freight, and lift and move heavy furniture, appliances, and equipment.
  • Keep storage areas and entrances locked and maintain adequate lighting.
  • Responsible for the daily clean up and maintenance of the exterior of the property, including grounds, breezeways, and all common areas.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after hour emergency services.

Requirements:

  • Requires at least one (1) year experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • Must have good working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and inventory control.
  • Must have knowledge of water and gas meter cutoffs, all apartment and fixture cutoffs, and sewer clean outs.
  • Must have experience with on-site janitorial work.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
