Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fluid Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Electric Boat. As a key member of our design and development team, you will be responsible for the design and development of fluid systems for our VIRGINIA Class submarines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop initial system/component requirements and specifications
  • Perform calculations, including pressure drop, flow analyses, heat loads, and stress analysis
  • Develop and improve fluid system designs
  • Develop and review system diagrams and drawings
  • Manage system interfaces and develop system operating instructions
Requirements
  • 2+ years of related engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, marine, or fire protection engineering
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance
  • Some travel may be necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous submarine experience
  • Foundational knowledge of fluid engineering principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
