  • Assist and/or coordinate the City's Strategic Planning processes and objectives
  • Leverage succession management strategies to develop a diverse pipeline of highly qualified talent and future leaders

  • Demonstrate a genuine concern for the success of the City
  • Promote world-class customer service
  • Participate in preparing the Annual City Budget and in budget control activities
  • Respond to complaints, inquiries, and service requests from the public
  • Accompany the City Manager to meetings and perform required follow-up on decisions reached
  • Confers with Department Heads to convey information concerning established policies and practices
  • Handles routine correspondence and prepares various documents and reports
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited university specializing in Municipal Management, Public Administration, or related field
  • Five years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in municipal administration
  • OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and seven years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in municipal administration
Working Environment

The Assistant City Manager will work in a sedentary environment, with occasional walking or standing, and will be required to exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly. The job risks exposure to no significant environmental hazards.

The Assistant City Manager will be required to work the schedule necessary to meet the requirements of the position and will be designated as Mission Critical.
