Position Overview

As an Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our flexible packaging production operations. This position entails executing both mechanical and electrical repairs on various machinery and facilities as required. Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Systems Maintenance Specialist must be proficient in:
  • Performing accurate and consistent general math calculations.
  • Utilizing a multimeter effectively.
  • Applying Ohm's law in practical scenarios.
  • Interpreting electrical schematics, including single line power instrumentation and relay logic in ladder format.
  • Troubleshooting equipment using diagrams, manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Working from various heights safely.
  • Programming timers, heat controllers, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Constructing small and large control panels.
  • Identifying various electrical components.
  • Installing conduits and cabling, selecting appropriate materials.
  • Determining wire sizes for correct amperage and voltage for various electrical components.
  • Communicating effectively with leadership, staff, and clients.
  • Exhibiting exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Conducting diverse maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Demonstrating proactivity and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Maintaining a clean work area.
  • Adhering to environmental standards and requirements.
  • Contributing to a safe work environment by following workplace regulations and reporting hazards.
  • Exhibiting ethical conduct at all times.
  • Being available for overtime as necessary.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with extrusion, flexo printing, and bag converting machinery is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MVP Plant or other computer-based CMMS programs.
  • Strong understanding of motor starter/control circuits and motor operations.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is advantageous.
  • Experience with AC/DC drive troubleshooting and programming.
  • Understanding of three-phase 480 VAC systems.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation operation, including thermocouples and pressure transmitters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Outlook.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical comprehension.
  • Good organizational and physical fitness for motor controls.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and housekeeping skills.
  • Ensuring proper use and storage of materials and tools.


Work Environment
  • This position operates within a manufacturing setting, utilizing tools for welding, fabrication, soldering, and machinery repair.
  • Regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting products up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes, and medium heat may occur.

Safety Precautions
Compliance with safety protocols, including hearing protection, safety shoes, and vision protection, is mandatory. Adherence to lockout/tagout procedures is essential. This role involves potential exposure to various workplace hazards, including chemical smells, airborne dust, and high noise levels.
