Public Works Crew Supervisor

Join the City of Reno team as a Public Works Crew Supervisor and play a vital role in maintaining the city's infrastructure. As a key member of the Maintenance and Operations Department, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and alteration of City heavy and light duty equipment, sewer lines, storm water conveyance, and other related infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise, assign, and review the work of staff responsible for maintenance, repair, and alteration of City infrastructure.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services, identify resource needs, and allocate resources accordingly.
- Participate in the development of goals and objectives, policies, and procedures, and make recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Participate in the selection of maintenance staff, provide or coordinate staff training, and work with employees to correct deficiencies.
- Schedule daily work activities, receive work orders, and prioritize requests for maintenance services.
- Monitor work sites, ensure adherence to safe work practices, and respond to complex work-related or equipment operating problems.
- Inspect work in progress and upon completion, detect and correct inefficient utilization of workers and equipment, and ensure work conforms to specifications and City regulations.
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in public works maintenance and repair or a related field.
- Four years of experience in the construction, maintenance, repair, and alteration of City streets, facilities, equipment, and/or vehicles, including one year of lead supervisory experience.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements may be required for some positions.
