Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our team at Warren CAT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality repair services on equipment to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Inspection and Repair: Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems with equipment, providing recommendations for repairs and making critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Process Compliance: Follow all documented CSA processes and guidelines, as well as Caterpillar guidelines for engine overhead measurements and adjustments.
  • Service Reporting: Generate service reports, required oil samples, and inspections, leaving a copy with the customer and submitting the completed paperwork to dispatchers within hours of completing the service job.
  • Safety and Contamination Procedures: Follow company and customer safety and contamination procedures, including MSHA guidelines when working in mining applications.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or three to five years related experience and/or training; preferably an AA in Applied Diesel Technology.
  • Driving Record and Certification: Clean driving record and require CDL license within 90 days; successfully complete Work steps assessment and certification for forklift and/or man lift operation.
  • Additional Certifications: H2S, MSHA, and lock-out/tag-out certified as required.

Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Required travel up to 30%. This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
