About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Railroad Safety Specialist to join our team at National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS). As a key member of our safety services division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of railroad infrastructure.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction inspection, with experience in grade separation projects, roadway paving/construction, and utility work. You will be responsible for providing jobsite coordination, clear communication with railroad personnel and contractors, and enforcing all relevant policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide jobsite coordination and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with railroad personnel and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Enforce contractor training requirements and identify rule violations.
  • Submit daily field reports detailing contractor and/or railroad activities.
  • Enforce Project Site Safety in accordance with Federal, State, Local and Railroad policies.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience in civil construction inspection. Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as proficiency in computer applications such as email, phone, and text messaging, are also essential.

Working Environment

This role operates in a field environment, requiring you to work outdoors and withstand various weather conditions.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
