Job Description
The Healthcare Support Associate will function under the direction of a registered nurse, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care and maintaining a safe environment. Key responsibilities include performing patient observation, documenting behavior, and monitoring patient safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate any changes in assignment to the nursing office.
- Perform patient observation as assigned.
- Document patient behavior using the appropriate form/tool.
- Obtain necessary information at the start of the shift regarding care from the Registered Nurse.
- Patient conversation guidelines must be adhered to.
- Ensure patient safety and maintain a secure environment as directed by the registered nurse.
- Monitor patient behavior for escalating signs.
- Accompany patients to the bathroom and testing as needed.
- Demonstrate proficiency with the use of bed alarms.
- Patient belongings will be placed in the patient's closet away from the patient.
- Demonstrate the skills and judgment necessary to provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of licensed personnel.
- Observe and report patient status and needs to the nurse.
- Remain on duty until relieved by oncoming coverage or Nurse discontinues coverage.
Salary Information
This position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K matching, and more.
