Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Science Analyst to join our team at Discover Financial Services. As a key member of our emerging first-party fraud strategy team, you will play a critical role in preventing fraudsters from harming our businesses.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop advanced analytics solutions to solve business problems, including customer segmentation, optimization, test and design of experiments, and prescriptive analytics. You will operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application, and financial impact analysis.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis, and deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions to drive business growth and prevent fraud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and drive business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain effective performance tracking and reporting.
  • Manage multiple priorities and communicate business performance and project progress to management and business partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Optimization, Operations Analytics, Modeling/Data Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Optimization, Operations Analytics, Modeling/Data Science, or related field.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $85,500 to $119,000, and additional incentives. We also offer a range of benefits, including paid parental leave, paid time off, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, and health savings account, STD, life, LTD, and AD&D, recognition program, education assistance, commuter benefits, family support programs, and employee stock purchase plan.
