Program Summary: This role involves active participation in the four-week Counselor-in-Training program at Timbercrest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage fully in the CIT program activities.
  • Complete necessary journaling assignments.
  • Participate in required mentoring sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Prior participation in the Junior Counselor-in-Training program at a GSWNY summer camp is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Commitment to uphold the policies and standards of the Girl Scouts of Western New York Inc.
  • Minimum age requirement: 15 years.
  • Willingness to undertake a certification course during designated training sessions.
  • Genuine interest and ability to connect with children and peers in an outdoor setting.
  • Previous camp experience and/or enthusiasm for the Girl Scout Camping program is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to assist campers during emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate empathy towards the needs of campers.
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, a sense of humor, patience, self-control, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Participate in both structured and unstructured activities.
