Job Summary

As an Engineering Manager at Marriott, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the building, grounds, and physical plant are well-maintained and compliant with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage budgets and capital expenditure projects. You will work closely with the emergency response team to ensure prompt and effective response to facility issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining property life safety systems, including fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
Manage and control heat, light, and power, and recommend current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs.
Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitor timeliness and quality of completion.
Oversees and directs the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.
Develop a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and oversee execution of plan.
Develop project plans in accordance with renovation or new construction needs.
Contact contractors for bids and supervise construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.
Build positive relationships with external customers, such as city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau, and vendors.
Ensure fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
Perform monthly property inspection to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
Conduct guest room and common area inspection to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
Recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
Manage parts and equipment inventory.

Marriott offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $98,000 annually, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, and other life and work wellness benefits.
