Job Title: Motor Vehicle Mechanic

**Job Summary:**

Amentum is seeking a skilled Motor Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. As a Motor Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and diagnosing issues with a variety of vehicles, including light, medium, heavy, and specialized equipment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Repair and maintain vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using technical manuals and diagnostic equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Inspect and test equipment for mechanical defects and replace worn parts
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic systems and other test equipment to diagnose and repair complex issues
  • Interact with customers to keep them informed of the status of their vehicles and provide estimates for repairs
  • Work in a team environment to complete repairs and meet deadlines

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years minimum experience in the problem diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide variety of light, medium, heavy, and/or specialized automotive equipment
  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel vehicle preventive maintenance programs
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of management and with subordinate team
  • Excellent record of safety operations and working knowledge of safety standards for motor vehicle mechanical and electrical systems

**Work Environment:**

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will work in a typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards. The position requires frequent lifting to 20-50 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, as well as routine sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.

**Additional Requirements:**

  • Must have a valid and current state driver's license
  • Must understand and be able to use Technical Manuals
  • Must be able to complete paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to manipulate and use hand tools and hydraulic equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
