Job Overview:
The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for initiating, strategizing, and overseeing all fundraising efforts aimed at individual contributors.
This role involves outreach and solicitation efforts that encompass seasonal and program-specific fundraising initiatives, special events, ongoing donor communications, relationship management, and a comprehensive annual donor appeal.
A key focus is on identifying, targeting, and nurturing new major donors while maintaining strong relationships with existing supporters through effective networking and personal engagement.
The Individual Giving Manager collaborates closely with the Executive Director and the Operations and Finance Director, serving as an integral member of the development team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish annual and long-term fundraising objectives, including revenue forecasts, with an emphasis on broadening the major donor base.
- Research and identify potential major donors; develop and implement tailored strategies for donor engagement.
- Manage relationships with existing donors, executing active stewardship plans to enhance donor satisfaction.
- Enhance and oversee the Friends (major donor) program, including invitations to exclusive events and appreciation gifts.
- Coordinate meetings for the Executive Director to foster relationships with major donors.
- Design and implement individual fundraising appeals, including thematic narratives and compelling content, overseeing the production of promotional materials.
- Organize fundraising events throughout the year and support major public events.
- Collaborate with the development team to refine processes for tracking donor interactions using existing systems.
- Analyze individual giving trends and report on progress towards fundraising goals.
- Assist in creating a quarterly newsletter for donors.
- Support the Board of Trustees with fundraising activities and track pledged contributions.
- Work with fundraising consultants as needed.
- Supervise the Development Associate in daily operations, including gift processing and donor acknowledgment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three years in development or related nonprofit roles.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, particularly in individual giving.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to represent the organization effectively.
- Strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities.
- Outstanding writing and storytelling skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of producing high-quality work independently.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with donor management systems is advantageous.
