Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Operations Officer plays a pivotal role within the Senior Leadership Team. This position is responsible for guiding and mentoring the operational leaders of the organization. The COO will collaborate closely with the Executive Leadership Team to strategize, coordinate, and supervise operational functions across the organization and its affiliated dental practices. The efforts of the COO will lead to enhanced operational efficiency and the identification and execution of cost-effective systems and solutions that align with the evolving demands of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with executive leadership to establish and achieve organizational objectives while providing expertise and guidance on operational initiatives and systems.
  • Define, implement, and communicate the strategic vision for the organization's operations.
  • Coordinate with various divisions and departments to fulfill the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the operational functions of the organization.
  • Develop, lead, and mentor operational leaders.
  • Ensure that operations team leaders and their teams receive appropriate training.
  • Guarantee that operational leadership and their teams have seamless electronic access to revenue cycle metrics related to the centers, ensuring that performance metrics and goals are effectively communicated and managed.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement cost-efficient processes, technologies, and systems to enhance and streamline organizational operations and resource utilization.
  • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans regarding staffing, development, organization, and facilities align with the organization's business strategy and vision.
  • Establish, communicate, and enforce operations-related policies, practices, standards, and metrics to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Develop process and workflow messaging for the field, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in communications to the practices.
  • Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing needs for projects.
  • Collaborate with finance to set operational and facilities budgets and manage those budgets.
  • Present regular performance reports and metrics to the Executive Leadership Team and/or the Board of Directors.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector, including at least 5 years in a senior management or relevant leadership role is required.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods and to travel as necessary.
