We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Case Aid. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and safety of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Community Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, caseworkers, children, and families to ensure effective case management and support.
- Diverse Cases and Interactions: Work with a diverse range of cases, interacting with individuals from various backgrounds and cultures, and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Commitment to Antiracism and Inclusion: Contribute to a team that prioritizes antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and help create a more equitable environment for all.
- Assessments and Case Planning: Collaborate with caseworkers to develop and implement assessments and case plans that meet the unique needs of each family.
- Child Advocacy: Support parents in identifying and articulating their children's needs, and assist caseworkers with case-related activities such as paperwork, information gathering, referrals, and communication with community partners.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (the job offer will be contingent upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in the bilingual requirements of the position).
- One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs, or possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation, or juvenile corrections.
- 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college coursework in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training, or an associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services and six months of human services-related experience.
- Experience working effectively with others, contributing ideas and efforts towards common goals.
- Experience writing in a clear, culturally competent, and compassionate manner, with minimal spelling or grammar issues.
- Experience taking proactive steps to identify and pursue goals and opportunities without waiting for direction.
- Experience communicating verbally over the phone while speaking with assurance and conviction while conveying professionalism and credibility.
- Experience shifting focus in dynamic environments with changing priorities.
