Nurse Residency Program Overview

Emory Healthcare is committed to providing a comprehensive transition-to-practice program for newly licensed registered nurses. Our 12-month Nurse Residency Program is designed to support your professional growth and development as you transition into your first role as an RN.

Program Highlights
  • Participate in a series of learning and work experiences designed to assist you in your transition to practice
  • Collaborate with clinical experts and peers to resolve clinical challenges and gain valuable insights into resources available to support your practice
  • Attend a four-hour learning session each month, focusing on evidence-based practice and professional development
  • Complete an evidence-based practice project, with support and guidance from clinical experts

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Nurse Residency Program, you must:

  • Possess a current RN license in Georgia or a Compact State
  • Successfully pass your boards, with results verified by noon on the Wednesday prior to the start date
  • Hold an active Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained through the American Heart Association
  • Provide a comprehensive resume, including details regarding your clinical rotation hours and facilities worked in
  • Have graduated from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation for Commission Education in Nursing (ACEN)
