Job Title: Documentation and Coding Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Documentation and Coding Specialist to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our Coding and Charge Capture department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records and coding.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultation to clinicians on coding and documentation education and questions.
- Review and verify component parts of medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and deliver training programs to clinicians and coders on documentation and coding best practices.
- Perform quality reviews of documentation and coding to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information, Business, or related field.
- 3 years of coding experience or equivalent education/experience.
- Certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
