Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance will take on a pivotal role as the financial authority responsible for orchestrating effective pricing strategies tailored to their designated sales channel within our contract manufacturing division.

This position will collaborate closely with the commercial sales team to formulate sound business strategies that will stimulate sales growth and enhance profitability through detailed financial analysis, capability assessments, and comprehensive profit and loss projections.

Key responsibilities include adhering to established pricing methodologies, gaining a thorough understanding of the company's cost structure, and engaging with various stakeholders across the business unit, including Sales, Procurement, Product Development, and Supply Chain.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Collaborate with the Commercial team to deliver pricing insights, extensive financial analysis, and profit and loss modeling for new product initiatives, competitive proposals, contract evaluations, and capital expenditures.

2. Partner with cross-functional departments to evaluate the effects of commodity price changes, manufacturing expenses, market dynamics, competitive factors, and operational constraints on pricing and profit margins.

3. Work alongside Supply Chain Finance to comprehend plant capabilities and key cost drivers, assessing their influence on pricing and profitability while exploring potential alternatives for clients.

4. Engage with Product Development and Procurement to analyze the necessary ingredients for each product, associated costs, and viable alternatives for customers.

5. Ensure compliance with the company's pricing frameworks, capabilities, and processes, leveraging insights from both internal and external sources, including competitive trends, market analysis, customer feedback, and operational data.

6. Support new product initiatives through comprehensive financial analysis and modeling for new offerings and clients.

7. Collaborate with management at all levels to drive solutions that enhance product profitability.

8. Prepare and deliver formal and informal presentations on pricing strategies, customer profitability, and provide critical insights and recommendations.

9. Analyze changes in volume, mix, and pricing within the assigned sales channel and key categories, summarizing trends against prior performance, forecasts, and plans, and working with FP&A and the Commercial team to accurately reflect these trends in budget forecasts.

10. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or manager.


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, revenue analytics, or a related field.
• Experience in the education sector or consumer packaged goods is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in information systems related to pricing strategy, profit and loss modeling, and margin analysis is preferred.

Position-specific Skills:
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Word is essential, with a willingness to learn additional software applications.
• Demonstrated capabilities in data analysis and the development of analytical models, tools, and reports.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement in previous roles.
• Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency, capable of thriving under deadline pressures.
