Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper/Room Attendant/Suite Attendant is to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest accommodations in accordance with brand standards and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Cleaning and Inventory Management: Execute thorough cleaning of all designated rooms following established Brand Standard protocols.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all items placed in guest accommodations.
  • Communicate the status of cleaned rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Report any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor promptly, including the room number or area where the item was discovered.
  • Notify Maintenance and the Housekeeping Supervisor of any damaged or missing items.
  • Inform the Housekeeping Supervisor of any unusual occurrences, such as a lack of luggage in a stay-over room or damage within the rooms.

Safety Protocols:

  • Utilize all approved cleaning agents safely and correctly.
  • Adhere to proper key control procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Foster a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating effectively with guests, clients, colleagues, and management.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for handling soiled linens and cleaning materials.
  • Restock and maintain the housekeeping cart.
  • Assist guests with inquiries and requests.
  • Comply with grooming and dress standards for the department.
  • Be prepared to execute hotel emergency protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Arrive for scheduled shifts punctually.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to comprehend the proper use of equipment and cleaning agents, as well as verbal instructions.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning agents and safety procedures.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of addressing practical issues and managing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Other Skills: Ability to operate equipment such as garbage disposals, vacuum cleaners, self-cleaning ovens, ice makers, and dishwashers. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience: No formal educational requirements.

Work Conditions:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to vibrations.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals.
  • Typically loud noise levels in the work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Must be able to see well enough to read reports, operate vehicles, and use a computer.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
  • Mobility: Must be able to stand and operate machinery, as well as move between departments.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to climb stairs and kneel for short periods.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Must be able to write and fill out work orders.
