Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper/Guestroom Attendant/Suite Attendant is to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of all guest accommodations in accordance with brand standards and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room Cleaning and Inventory Management: Execute thorough cleaning of all designated rooms while adhering to established Brand Standard guidelines.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all items placed in guest accommodations.
  • Communicate the status of cleaned rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Promptly report any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor, specifying the room number or area of discovery.
  • Notify Maintenance and the Housekeeping Supervisor of any damaged or missing items.
  • Report any unusual circumstances, such as lack of luggage in a stay-over room or damages, to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Safety Protocols:

  • Utilize all authorized cleaning agents safely and appropriately.
  • Adhere to proper key control procedures.

Work Environment:

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting respectfully with guests, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for handling soiled linens and cleaning materials.
  • Restock and organize the housekeeping cart efficiently.
  • Assist guests with inquiries and requests as needed.
  • Comply with grooming and dress standards for the department.
  • Be prepared to implement hotel emergency procedures.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Language Skills: Ability to comprehend the proper use of equipment and cleaning agents, as well as verbal instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning agents and equipment.
  • Reasoning Ability: Capacity to address practical problems and navigate various situations with limited standardization.
  • Other Skills: Proficient in operating equipment such as garbage disposals, vacuum cleaners, self-cleaning ovens, ice makers, and dishwashers. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience: No formal educational requirements.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regular exposure to vibrations and airborne particles, including fumes and chemicals.
  • Typically loud noise levels in the work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sight: Must be able to see well enough to read reports and operate equipment.
  • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate effectively.
  • Mobility: Must be able to stand and move between departments.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to climb stairs and kneel for short periods.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual Dexterity: Must be able to write and complete paperwork as required.
