Job Summary

Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Outreach Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating after-school education and leadership programming for youth ages 14-18, focusing on youth leadership development and mental health wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation:
    • Design and develop youth educational, mental health, and leadership programs that align with the organization's mission and goals.
    • Communicate with parents and schools to recruit participants, track progress, and build relationships.
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations to address student needs and provide support services.
    • Lead weekly in-person workshops for youth, focusing on leadership development, mental health, and education.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with program youth to monitor progress and provide support.
    • Assist in implementing interagency collaborative projects in the community to promote youth development and well-being.
    • Attend community and partnership meetings as needed to represent the organization and build relationships.
  • Program Administration and Supervision:
    • Develop and maintain outreach materials for the organization's social media accounts and other marketing channels.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, files, and documentation.
    • Submit documentation in a timely manner to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the Youth Center and other facilities utilized by the program.
    • Perform administrative duties as needed to achieve outreach and program goals, such as developing flyers and brochures in English and Chinese.
    • Supervise 1-2 volunteers and/or interns to provide guidance and support.
  • Operations and Program Support:
    • Represent the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center at community events to promote the organization's mission and programs.
    • Manage external inquiries regarding the program, providing information and support as needed.
    • Manage logistics and order supplies to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
    • Perform all duties in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the program and organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master of Social Work or related field preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of related experience preferred, with a focus on youth development, mental health, and leadership programming.
  • Knowledge about mental health challenges and interventions, as well as Asian American and immigrant youth experiences.
  • Experience with group facilitation and/or individual support, with a focus on youth development and well-being.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Professional working proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin Chinese a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel to the Quincy office at least 3 days a week.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule and may require local travel during the workday.
  • Work is performed primarily in a standard work environment, including the operation of computer equipment, and physical demands associated with a traditional work setting.
