Impact Creation
This position acts as the primary technical reference for the Global Marine claims team, collaborating with regional claims leadership, Global Marine business leaders, and other stakeholders to provide a consistent, efficient, and customer-focused Marine Recovery service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver robust technical marine recovery support and leadership across the Global Marine claims portfolio, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes through technical excellence and effective management of Total Cost of Claim.
  • Serve as the Global Marine Recovery coordinator for significant claims, authorizing settlements and payments within designated authority and escalating decisions beyond authority to senior claim leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with the North America Marine Liability Claim manager to enhance the capabilities of the Global Marine Recovery team, ensuring the right skill sets are in place for current and future claims portfolios.
  • Continuously review and improve existing best practice guidelines and claim adjustment procedures alongside the NA Marine Liability Claim manager to identify and implement enhancements for Global Marine Recovery.
  • Contribute to AIG's thought leadership in Global Marine Recovery by supporting Claims colleagues in market seminars, programs, and industry events.
  • Assist in the implementation of VBA, LRA, and future digital initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Support the NA Marine Liability Claim manager in identifying and reporting trends, lessons learned, and risk management opportunities in Global Marine Recovery, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the North America Marine Liability Claim Manager.

  • Strong technical expertise in Marine Recovery to effectively manage AIG's Global Marine Recovery portfolio.
  • A proven track record in Global Marine Recovery management.
  • The ability to oversee the total cost associated with Global Marine Recovery indemnity and expenses.
  • Skills to identify, develop, and implement process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach to influence a diverse range of Global Marine stakeholders, customers, and brokers across various functions and cultures.
