Job Summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nutrition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with medical staff and ancillary services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Nutrition Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough nutrition assessments, identify patients' nutritional needs, and develop personalized care plans to ensure optimal nutrition outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Nutrition Education and Counseling: Provide patients and their families with education and counseling on healthy eating habits, nutrition-related disease management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain accurate records and statistics.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research, best practices, and industry developments to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food Service, Food and Nutrition, or a related field. Master's degree or specialty certification preferred.
  • Certification and Licensure: Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration or eligible for registration within one year of hire. State certification or licensure to meet state-specific laws for practice as a Dietitian or licensure within one year of hire.
