Job Title: Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist to join our team at InterDent Service Corporation. As an EPDH, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional oral health services to our patients in community settings.

Job Summary:

The Expanded Practice Dental Hygienist will work independently in multiple community locations, using a high level of decision-making skills to complete all hygiene services, intra-oral photos, x-rays, assessments, and preventive treatments. You will also prescribe antibiotics when necessary, with guidance from a collaborative dentist, to help stabilize patients until they can be seen by a dentist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Oral Health Champion in the medical clinic/hospital/multiple community setting.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to provide close integration of oral health and primary care.
  • Administrative tasks, including insurance verification, using computers, EHR (dental and medical software), Word/Excel.
  • Marketing/Education/Professional collaboration and networking within community settings, educating patients, colleagues, community stakeholders on the importance of oral health at all levels of the community setting.
  • Work to educate, recruit, and schedule patients to receive dental services.
Requirements:
  • Accredited Hygiene Technical School or College.
  • Current applicable State Dental License (or the ability to acquire one by the time of employment).
  • Oregon EPDH license.
  • Other licenses/certifications, such as CPR, local certified anesthesia.
