Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner

Patient Care Management
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will assist physicians in providing high-quality care and continuity of service to patients within the rheumatology specialty. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough health status assessments, including health histories, physical examinations, and systematic recording of data.
- Initiating and/or performing selected procedures and laboratory examinations for diagnostic screening and referral purposes.
- Discriminating between normal and abnormal findings and making appropriate referrals to the physician for evaluation and/or supervision.
- Initiating appropriate treatment modalities, including prescribing medications, assistive devices, and other equipment.
- Teaching, counseling, and assisting patients and families in meeting their health needs, making referrals to other health professionals and agencies as required.
- Participating in diagnostic testing to the extent allowed within your scope of practice.
You will play a vital role in the education and development of our nursing staff, including:
- Acting as a consultant to nursing staff and participating in inservice training as needed.
- Assisting in the clinical orientation of students or staff to our patient management routines and policies.
- Selecting and providing resource materials for nursing staff.
You will have the opportunity to participate in research projects within the medical specialty, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:To be considered for this role, you must be a NYS licensed/registered NP or PA, with a NYS NP specialty area of certification consistent with practice. You must also have a NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) or be eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire. Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire, and current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Compensation:The salary range for this role is $92,000 - $147,004, with the actual salary based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.
