Position Overview

As a Lead Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Phase 1 due diligence assessments and supporting senior team members in various management tasks, including proposal development and project oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) Phase 1 and New Jersey Preliminary Assessments (PA).
  • Prepare detailed ESA reports, ensuring the inclusion of accurate data, summary tables, and figures.
  • Assist senior management in coordinating work activities across multiple project functions to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery.
  • Support senior managers in achieving project milestones, adhering to budgetary constraints, and meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in the selection and management of project staff and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for various sites.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an environmental scientist role, specifically in conducting Phase I assessments and New Jersey Preliminary Assessments (PA).
  • Familiarity with ASTM Phase I ESA standards and state environmental regulations (NJ, NY, PA), along with NJDEP Preliminary Assessment guidance.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technical report writing capabilities.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; familiarity with AutoCAD, TurboCAD, and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally nationally for fieldwork; a valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Experience in soil, groundwater, soil gas, indoor air sampling, and conducting Property Condition Assessments is advantageous but not essential.
Additional Information

Physical requirements include the ability to navigate job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain, and the capability to climb ladders to assess roofing conditions and roof-mounted equipment. Candidates should be able to carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites regularly.
