Job Overview

The Columbus Urban League is seeking a dedicated Workforce Development Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our workforce development program, you will play a crucial role in helping adults and dislocated workers achieve their employment goals.

We are looking for an experienced professional with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of local job market needs, and the ability to adapt to new systems and processes.

About the Role

This position involves verifying eligibility for program services, providing case management, conducting assessments and interviews, and facilitating customer access to training, education, barrier-removal services, and employment opportunities.

You will work closely with customers to help them set employment goals, develop employment plans, and remove barriers to service. This includes coordinating access to relevant resources, monitoring progress, and providing follow-up services to support job retention and barrier reduction.

You will also maintain accurate and up-to-date digital case files in database systems, ensuring that all records are current, accurate, thorough, and compliant with laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • A related bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience
  • One to three years of experience in workforce development or related programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes
Salary Information

Our estimated salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $65,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
