Position Summary

Brookfield Properties is seeking a highly driven individual with robust analytical skills to join the Hospitality Asset Management team. This role will assist the Asset Management group in achieving its goals of enhancing asset value through collaboration with hotel managers to identify revenue growth opportunities and cost-saving measures. The ideal candidate should possess strategic thinking capabilities along with a solid understanding of hospitality trends, hotel operations, and financial analysis and modeling.

This individual will be tasked with reviewing financial metrics and reports, including profit and loss statements, forecasts, STR data, and sales & revenue management data.
Responsibilities
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of assigned assets through market research and detailed asset review and analysis.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of profit & loss statements, comparing performance against budget and prior years, investigating variances, and recommending operational adjustments to meet performance targets and enhance asset value.
  • Analyze forecast variances on a weekly and monthly basis to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with quarterly portfolio reporting and board meetings as necessary.
  • Help establish strategic goals and objectives for each assigned property and monitor performance against these targets.
  • Prepare analyses and track action items for weekly property calls to support asset performance objectives.
  • Assist in return on investment analysis for proposed capital expenditure projects.
  • Provide analytical support to the Hospitality Asset Management team regarding potential acquisitions, refinancings, and dispositions.
  • Build positive relationships and collaborate with third-party managers and other members of the Hospitality group.
  • Support meeting coordination, preparation, and follow-up between Asset Management and hotel operators.
  • Complete special ad hoc projects and analyses as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in hospitality asset analysis or hotel finance is required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, analyze, and report on diverse quantitative and qualitative hotel metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and results-driven professional with a quick learning ability.
  • Reliable, diligent, and hardworking, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets from multiple sources to support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently.
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
