Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursery Person/Equipment Operator to join our team at Bachman's. As a key member of our field production team, you will be responsible for operating a variety of equipment, including skid loaders, soil shredders, and semi-tractor/trailer trucks, to ensure the efficient and safe production of nursery stock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mix and apply fertilizers and pesticides as directed
  • Load and haul soil, rock, and other materials on trucks as needed
  • Assist in loading and unloading B&B and container nursery stock
  • Communicate problems and concerns to supervisors and other personnel
  • Grade nursery roads as directed
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine light maintenance on equipment
  • Accurately mix and apply chemical pesticides and fertilizers
  • Perform field maintenance duties, including filling tree spade holes and grubbing
  • Operate dump trucks over the road to haul materials
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus two-year certificate in horticulture, equipment operation, or related field
  • Two years' experience in operation of nursery/farm machinery and equipment
  • Valid Class D Minnesota driver's license or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of landscape plant materials commonly found in Minnesota landscapes
  • Conversational Spanish speaking ability preferred
