Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Interstate Waste Services, Inc. in Newark, NJ. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining our fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using diagnostic software and tools
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve mechanical issues and ensure timely completion of tasks
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing DPF systems, diagnostic software, and other complex mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of applicable DOT and OSHA standards and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and CDL preferred
