Behavioral Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our team at Turning Point Community Programs.
About the Role:
- This full-time position involves providing psychosocial, rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services for program members.
- You will be responsible for advocating for members in all areas of treatment and helping them apply for and receive necessary services.
- Your duties will also include medication management, resource connection, counseling, and advocacy as needed.
- In addition, you will provide after-hours 'on-call' coverage on a rotational basis based on program needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead clients in their assigned group or individual sessions.
- Advocate for clients in various aspects of treatment, empowering them to achieve their goals.
- Help clients access mental health treatment, medical care, housing, food, and clothing when required.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized service plans for each client.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary documentation, including progress notes, activity reports, and logs.
- Meet regularly with clients at designated sites, homes, job sites, or other suitable locations.
- Consult with family members, caregivers, or other significant individuals with the client's consent.
- Coach clients in social skills, money management, personal hygiene, and job readiness.
- Assist in establishing clients' eligibility for Medi-Cal or other benefits and advocate for continued support when appropriate.
- Develop financial management plans for Representative Payee Services clients and authorize expenditures accordingly.
- Cultivate effective teamwork to provide holistic case management services to assigned clients.
- Provide immediate, helpful counseling consistent with the program's philosophy.
- Use a personal vehicle for program business, such as medication outreach, home visits, transportation to appointments/activities, community meetings/trainings, and Mental Health Court.
- Prioritize the safety, well-being, and health of clients.
- Complete assigned paperwork in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of direct mental health experience.
- Relevant higher education may substitute up to two years of experience.
- A valid California driver's license and current vehicle insurance/registration.
- A reliable vehicle capable of passing a safety inspection if more than five years old.
Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
