Healthcare Law Specialist

**Job Summary:**
The State of Vermont is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Attorney to join our Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA). As an in-house counsel, you will provide legal guidance on rate setting and estate recovery, working closely with our policy team. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Waterbury, VT.
We estimate the annual salary to be around $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have at least five years of demonstrated proficiency in Medicaid law, healthcare law and regulation, administrative/regulatory law, contracts, or other relevant experience. You will work in a hybrid telework environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert legal advice on rate setting and estate recovery
- Collaborate with our policy team to develop and implement policies and procedures
- Work closely with external counsel to support state litigation efforts
- Conduct research and analyze complex legal issues
**Requirements:**
- At least five years of relevant experience
- Degree from an accredited law school
- Member of or eligible to join the Vermont Bar
