Job Description

America Votes is seeking a highly skilled and organized Data Director to support campaign strategy and direct voter contact programs for the progressive movement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management, analysis, and visualization, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage voter file access for AV partner organizations and their consultants, ensuring secure and efficient data management.
  • Lead partner and organizational VAN and campaign data trainings, providing technical assistance and support as needed.
  • Work with partner organizations to support, enhance, and execute programs, utilizing data to inform advocacy and electoral plans.
  • Develop and maintain district profiles, landscape memos, and other documents to communicate data analysis with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • At least one cycle of experience with statewide data responsibilities, including planning, program implementation, and analysis.
  • Cultural competency and ability to communicate respectfully across lines of difference.
  • Strong sense of ownership and resilience in planning ahead, finding alternative paths, and bouncing back from setbacks.
  • Experience with common direct voter contact programs and data tools, including VAN and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with the state political landscape and/or independent expenditure campaigns.
  • Experience with mapping tools, visualization tools, or analysis tools.
