Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Architect to join our team at Spur Design. As a key member of our architecture department, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept to completion, collaborating with various stakeholders, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Guide projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Director of Architecture, Project Manager, architectural designers, and sub-consultants to supervise and coordinate overall design and technical delivery.
  • Design and Documentation: Prepare and ensure the completion of fully coordinated Construction Documents that comply with all project and code requirements.
  • Project Research: Conduct project research in compliance with local, federal, and VA TIL standards.
  • Team Management: Coordinate and oversee internal team meetings and reviews, and help to mentor and develop team members.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients and lead design meetings, ensuring effective communication and project understanding.
  • Quality Control: Participate in the review and QAQC of each assigned project submission, ensuring incorporation into the design documents and compliance with Spur Design standards and quality control.
  • Field Investigations: Conduct on-site observations and draft reports for Field Investigations.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Assist in marketing, promotional, and business development activities, and work with the Architectural Lead to ensure effective and efficient use of staff and firm resources.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Experience: 6-15 years of professional experience as a licensed Architect.
  • Skills: High proficiency in applicable BIM and CAD software, ability to lead and guide the production of construction documents, and thorough knowledge of codes and zoning regulations.
  • Qualifications: Portfolio of completed projects, NCARB certification, and excellent communication and reporting skills.
